In a series of incidents across the region, authorities are investigating various cases of traffic accidents, vandalism, and assaults.
In Neresheim, a 70-year-old truck driver was involved in a traffic accident on the L2033 on Wednesday afternoon. The truck driver's vehicle's rear end drifted onto the opposite lane, resulting in a collision with another truck driven by a 61-year-old coming from the opposite direction. Fortunately, both drivers sustained only minor injuries. The total damage from the accident is estimated at around 9,500 euros.
Elsewhere in Abtsgmünd/Wöllstein, an unknown motorist damaged a metal wire fence between Monday noon and 3:00 PM and left the scene without being identified.
In a separate incident, a hit-and-run incident occurred in Abtsgmünd/Wöllstein, causing an estimated damage of around 1,000 euros. The Aalen Police Station is accepting tips about this incident.
In Aalen, a recycling container was defaced with a green swastika on Thursday. The unknown perpetrators responsible for the vandalism have not been identified, and the Aalen Police Station is accepting witness statements regarding the incident.
In Ellwangen/A7, a 64-year-old Mercedes driver lost two pairs of trailer wheels on the A7 around 1:45 PM on Wednesday. The following vehicles, including a 29-year-old Ford Transit, ran over the debris, causing an estimated damage of around 3,500 euros.
In Durlangen, a 30-year-old man assaulted police officers on Wednesday around 11:15 PM. The man was eventually taken to a psychiatric clinic by ambulance, and one police officer was slightly injured during the attack.
In Neresheim, the man resisted and spat in the direction of the officers during the attempt to restrain him. The incident occurred in an apartment on Hermann-Löns-Weg, where the man began insulting the officers upon their arrival.
Multiple fire departments, including the Neresheim Fire Department and the Bopfingen Fire Department, responded to the traffic accident in Neresheim.
