Law enforcement officers hurt during riots, with numerous detentions made

In an eventful afternoon in Marienfelde, a 28-year-old man was taken into custody following a series of disturbances. Officers from police districts 44 and 47 made the arrest, which has since led to numerous ongoing investigations.

The incident began around 1:45 PM, when the man caused a disturbance on Daimlerstraße. His actions resulted in the damage of a car's side mirror. Witnesses reported that he also threw construction signage onto the road, posing a threat to other traffic.

As officers approached him, the man became aggressive and resisted arrest. He attempted to bite an officer's hand and headbutt another, leading to an injury to one of the officers. The officer, who sustained an arm injury during the altercation, has since gone off duty for recovery.

Despite the resistance, the man was eventually apprehended and taken into custody. He was then taken to the psychiatric department of a hospital for examination by a doctor. Blood samples were taken from the man, and a breathalyzer test showed a reading of approximately 1.5 per mil.

The man has been charged for insulting the police during the arrest. In addition, investigations for resisting arrest, assaulting law enforcement officers, endangering traffic, and property damage are ongoing. The man's identity is yet to be officially confirmed.

This incident serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by law enforcement officers in maintaining peace and order in our communities. The police continue to work diligently to gather evidence and ensure justice is served in this case.
