Law enforcement officials are on the hunt for an unidentified individual

On June 5, 2025, an 89-year-old woman fell victim to telephone scammers in the city of Bonn. The Bonn Police are seeking the public's help in solving this case.

The victim gathered high-value jewelry, worth a five-figure sum, and drove to the KΓΆnig Museum on Bonn's Adenauerallee. The stolen jewelry was received by an unknown suspect on the sidewalk opposite the museum, in front of the Palais Schaumburg.

The scammers used a shock call to report a false traffic accident involving the woman's son and demanded a five-figure bail. The unknown suspect was videographed by the video surveillance system of the Palais Schaumburg during the waiting time.

The Bonn Police are publishing photos of the unknown suspect on a judicial order. These photos can be viewed on the police NRW's wanted portal at https://polizei.nrw/fahndung/178905.

Anyone who can provide information about the identity of the person or further details about the crime is asked to contact the Criminal Commission 24 at telephone number 0228 15-0 or by email at [email protected].

The Public Prosecutor's Office in Bonn has offered a reward of 2,000 euros for information leading to the recovery of the stolen goods or the identification of the unknown suspect.
