Police Raid Conducted in St. Petersburg During Amateur Football Match

In an unexpected turn of events, a raid was conducted in St. Petersburg's Vasileostrovsky district during an amateur football match on August 29, 2022. The incident did not involve the RFLA Arena or the amateur football league, according to reports.

Artem Alekseyevsky, the league manager, reported this to RBC. He also clarified that the raid was aimed at identifying violations of migration legislation, and over 300 foreign citizens were checked during the operation. Among those detained were individuals held responsible for petty hooliganism and violators of migration regulations.

The situation was calm during the match, and the players were behaving normally. Before the match, the referee always assesses the participants' condition, and no complaints about the footballers were made this time. Alekseyevsky noted that if a person is found to be drunk, have a smell of alcohol, or have noticeable physical impairments, they are not allowed to play.

However, the team's players were not allowed to play in the match after the incident. Alekseyevsky learned from one of the team's players that all players except the captain were released. The name of the captain of the Middle Eastern football team "Reaviz" stopped by the police on August 29 is not publicly available.

Alekseyevsky warned that some media outlets are confusing the incident involving the "Reaviz" team with another case involving Team Young, which happened three weeks ago. He also reported that some of the foreign citizens were taken to the police department for further investigation. No official information was provided by law enforcement representatives about the incident.

It is important to note that the organizers of the amateur football league are not responsible for document checks and player identity verification. The raid did not involve the Middle Eastern team "Reaviz" or the incident that occurred on August 29. Among those detained were individuals held responsible for petty hooliganism.
