Born in Dublin in 1948, Jordan began his motorsport career in the early 1970s with kart racing. He later competed in Formula Ford and Formula Three races before venturing into team ownership.
In 1991, Jordan founded Jordan Grand Prix, a team that would compete in F1 until 2005. The team was known for its vibrant presence in the paddock and was instrumental in launching the career of Michael Schumacher.
Schumacher made his Formula 1 debut with Jordan Grand Prix in 1991. Although he qualified seventh at the Belgian Grand Prix that year, he retired early due to car trouble. Schumacher would later win his first two world titles after moving to Benetton, following his time at Jordan Grand Prix.
Under Eddie Jordan's leadership, Jordan Grand Prix secured four Grand Prix victories. The team's successes were a testament to Jordan's passion for motorsport and his ability to build a competitive team.
