Hulk Hogan's Loyal Friend: Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake Remembers

In a heartfelt tribute, Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake, a long-time friend of the late Hulk Hogan, shared his memories of their friendship and the impact Hogan had on his life.

Their bond dates back nearly 50 years, to when Hulk Hogan, then known as Terry Boulder, recruited Beefcake, who was known as Ed Boulder at the time, to join the world of professional wrestling straight out of high school. In the late 1970s, they formed a tag team, known as one of the most iconic in wrestling history.

Their friendship was tested in 1990, when Beefcake was involved in a parasailing accident in Florida that left his face severely damaged. Hulk Hogan was by his side, visiting him in the hospital after he was brought out of a drug-induced coma. The visit was a significant moment for Beefcake, who recalled Hogan's words of encouragement not to give up, saying he would live.

Despite Hogan's wife being about to give birth and his son Nick being present, he flew across the country to be with his friend. This act of loyalty was not lost on Beefcake, who considers Hogan as the one who kickstarted his career in professional wrestling.

In a sad turn of events, Hulk Hogan passed away on Thursday at the age of 71. Beefcake regrets not being able to see his friend one last time before his death. In an interview with TMZ, he expressed his regret about not visiting Hogan in the days leading up to his passing, fearing potential rejection.

Beefcake was thinking of Hogan in the days leading up to his death. He cherishes the day Hulk Hogan inducted him into the WWE Hall of Fame in 2019, a day he will treasure forever. Beefcake considers Hogan a loyal friend and remembers him fondly.

Medics arrived at Hulk Hogan's home in Clearwater, Florida, five minutes after a cardiac arrest call was placed at 9:51 a.m. on Thursday. Hulk Hogan, whose real name is Terry Bollea, passed away at 11:17 a.m. on the same day.

Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake's career in professional wrestling was not the only thing Hulk Hogan impacted. His friendship and support left a lasting impression on Beefcake, a testament to the man he was both in and out of the ring.
