Library's Offering in September
The City Library of Dormagen is gearing up for a month filled with free events, engaging discussions, and creative workshops. Here's a rundown of what's in store for book lovers and crafters alike.
Starting the month off, on September 3rd, the Story and Literature CafΓ© will welcome author Pauline Hafsia Mbarek. This event, which takes place from 3 to 4:30 pm, carries a participation fee of one euro, with coffee and tea offered on a donation basis.
On the same day, at 7 pm, JΓΌrgen Wiebicke will host a reading discussing the topic of defending democracy.
The Literature Meeting for book lovers, in collaboration with the Dormagen 55plus Network, is scheduled for September 24th from 10:00 to 11:30 AM. The title of the featured book will be published on the city library's homepage.
Reinhold Peter, a Neuss author, will be a guest at the Story and Literature CafΓ© on a date yet to be announced.
For the crafting enthusiasts, the library offers a meeting on Wednesday, September 17th, from 3 to 5 pm. This meeting is suitable for both beginners and advanced crafters.
The Book Swap event will take place on September 27th from 10 am to 2 pm. For five euros per bag, you can take home a selection of books.
The Summer Reading Club's closing party will take place at CafΓ© micado on September 19th from 4:30 to 6 pm.
Children are invited to attend the Reading Pass Action on September 2nd, 12th, 16th, and 30th. Each visit earns a stamp in their reading pass, and with six stamps, they can choose a surprise from the treasure chest.
The City Library of Dormagen, located at Market Square 1, participates in the Summer Reading Club since 2006, with the motto "Shock your teachers - read a book!".
