The city of Dresden is gearing up for an exciting sports extravaganza as ZDF prepares to broadcast the "Finals 2025" from July 31 to August 3, 2025. This multisport event, centrally located along the Elbe and in the heart of the city, will be the fifth edition of this much-anticipated event.

Over 3,500 athletes will compete in 20 sports, vying for 133 German championships across nine sports venues within a radius of about 2.5 kilometers. The action-packed weekend will feature a diverse range of sports, including fencing, coastal rowing, rhythmic gymnastics, canoeing, gymnastics, rugby, and more.

On Friday afternoon, viewers can look forward to the championship competitions, with coverage starting from 2:05 PM and running until 7:00 PM. The final day of the "Finals 2025" will be broadcast on ZDF for more than eight hours on Sunday, August 3.

Sports presenter Lena Kesting will guide viewers through the two "Finals" days on ZDF, while Maral Bazargani will report from the Heinz-Steyer Stadium as the new ZDF athletics presenter. ZDF expert Ronald Rauhe, a two-time Olympic canoeing champion, has described the Finals as "small national Olympic Games" with many sports, big emotions, and real highlights.

In addition to the main broadcasts, ARD and ZDF will air more than 30 hours live in their main programs, with around 100 more hours available in four live streams on the senders' web and app platforms. The live streams of the "Finals 2025" will be available on sportstudio.de starting from 10:00 AM on the "Finals" days.

The swimming world championships pool events in Singapore will also be shown on sportstudio.de from 1:00 PM. ZDF will have a stand and the "sportstudio" goal wall at the Ostra Sports Park during the "Finals 2025" in Dresden.

Throughout the broadcasts, there will be frequent switching between the nine sports venues to ensure viewers don't miss a moment of the action. ZDF Sports Director Yorck Polus stated that they are looking forward to presenting the diversity of German high-performance sports to a large audience.
