Local authorities from 17 areas granted Labels for Secure Internet (LSI) for strong IT security practices
The Administrative Communities of Alteglofsheim, Bernhardswald, Donaustauf, KallmĂŒnz, Köfering, Mintraching, Nittendorf, Pentling, Pattendorf, SĂŒnching, Tegernheim, Thalmassing, Wenzenbach, Wiesent, Wörth Donau, and Zeitlarn have recently been awarded the LSI seal 3.0. This prestigious accolade was presented during a ceremony held at the Nittendorf Market's meeting room.
The award ceremony was graced by the presence of Finance and Home Minister Albert FĂŒracker, LSI President Bernd Geisler, and District Councilor Tanja Schweiger. The LSI seal was bestowed upon the administrations for their successful update to version 3.0, a project initiated by the Real Estate Office.
The Information Security Officer (ISB) positions of the individual administrations are jointly occupied by the Real Estate Office, under the leadership of Christian Schindlbeck. The project was coordinated by the Regensburg Real Estate Office on behalf of the Regensburg District Office.
The successful completion of the LSI seal 3.0 certification process was a result of the cooperative efforts of the involved municipalities and an external data protection consultancy. Mr. Turban and Mr. Karmann of the Mein-Datenschutzberater provided valuable support to the municipalities of the Regensburg district.
District Councilor Tanja Schweiger expressed her delight, stating that the successful LSI seal 3.0 certification demonstrates the municipalities' strong position in IT security and digitization. She further added that this centralised organisation by the Real Estate Office supports a modern administration that is citizen-friendly, efficient, and future-oriented.
Work on the project has been ongoing since 2023, with Christian Schindlbeck holding the position of project leader in the final phase. Many technical and organisational measures required by the LSI for the update were implemented centrally due to the uniform IT management by the Regensburg Real Estate Office.
This achievement marks a significant milestone in the digital transformation of the Regensburg district, ensuring a secure and efficient digital future for its citizens.
