The City of Augsburg is fostering a new initiative, the SIA-Ost - Augsburg East Local Initiative, aimed at profiling the Augsburg East industrial area through sustainability. Established in December 2022, this initiative seeks to strengthen cooperation and networking among companies, owners, and users in the area.

The SIA-Ost was born out of the funded research program "Experimental Housing and Urban Development (ExWoSt): Sustainable Further Development of Industrial Areas." It will officially commence operations in 2023, marking a significant step towards a more sustainable and interconnected industrial zone.

As a dialogue partner for the City of Augsburg, the SIA-Ost acts on matters related to optimising the location and representing the interests of companies, owners, and users. To this end, various expert committees have been formed to define and prepare future projects and measures in the Augsburg East industrial area.

One of the key initiatives to foster collaboration is the regular entrepreneur breakfast. These events offer opportunities for idea exchange and networking among interested parties from the Lechhausen industrial area, including members of the SIA-Ost. The dates for these breakfasts are organised by the Economic Development Department, the board of the SIA-Ost, and the host company.

The City of Augsburg is committed to supporting the establishment of the SIA-Ost beyond the project duration. Moreover, they intend to collaborate with the Augsburg East regional management and ideas and projects resulting from the cooperation. CIMA Consulting + Management has been instrumental in supporting networking, vacancy, and area management, marketing, and public relations in the Augsburg East industrial area.
