The Chinese automaker, Chery, has unveiled the revised version of its popular electric city car, the eQ1. According to official images, the new model appears to be a facelift rather than a new generation, but it boasts a more modern rear end design and adjusted exterior styling.

The front end of the new eQ1, known as the "Little Ant" in the Chinese market, features a "Qq" logo, signifying its place in Chery's city car line. The overall design remains similar to its 2017 model, but the front bumper has a less aggressive styling with a trapeze-shaped air intake.

Inside the eQ1, a two-spoke steering wheel with a flat top and bottom, a gear shifter, and an LCD instrument panel can be found behind the wheel. The center console features a floating screen, and surprisingly, the car does not have an armrest. Instead, it offers a wireless phone charging pad and two USB ports.

The new eQ1 can fit four passengers despite having only two doors. It comes in at least two body colours: green and purple, as revealed by the official images.

Under the monitor in the center console, there are two cup holders. The entry-level eQ1 is equipped with a 30-kW (41 hp) electric motor on the rear axle, while more powerful versions of the eQ1 boast a 55-kW (75 hp) e-motor.

Patent images of the new Chery eQ1 have leaked online, revealing a horizontal LED taillight strip, a rectangular logo placement in the middle of the taillight unit, a new bumper, and a roof spoiler.

The price range of the Chery eQ1 is 64,999 - 94,000 yuan (9,075 - 13,120 USD). The vehicle is set to enter the Chinese market soon, and it is also expected to launch on the international market in the first quarter of 2024. Interestingly, in the domestic Chinese market, the new eQ1 may be named "Xiao Ma Yi q" instead of eQ1.

The Chery eQ1 is the entry-level car in Chery's eQ series, which includes the eQ5 and eQ7. Despite its entry-level status, the eQ1 adopts a fully redesigned interior, offering a comfortable and technologically advanced driving experience.

In summary, the new Chery eQ1 offers a modern facelift and improved rear design, while maintaining its popular city car status. With its entry-level price and upgraded features, the eQ1 is set to continue its success in the electric vehicle market.
