The Chinese automobile manufacturer Chery is set to expand its new off-road SUV model range with the introduction of the Jetour Traveller. The mid-sized SUV will be available with both Internal Combustion Engine (ICE) and Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) powertrains, offering consumers a range of options to suit their needs.

Powertrains and Fuel Consumption

The Jetour Traveller will come equipped with two engine options: a 1.5T and a 2.0T. The comprehensive fuel consumption for the 1.5T engine is 8.35L/100km, while the 2.0T engine consumes 8.83L/100km. The ICE options include a 1.5T engine with a 7-speed DCT in front-wheel drive and a 2.0T engine with an 8 AT and BorgWarner's sixth-generation four-wheel drive system.

For those seeking a more eco-friendly option, the PHEV version of the Traveller will use a 1.5-liter turbocharged engine, an electric motor, and a 3-speed DHT. The PHEV model is expected to launch in November, with a claimed cruising range of more than 1,000 km.

Design and Interior Features

The Jetour Traveller boasts a boxy body, big bumpers, wide arches, sidebars, roof racks, and 18-inch or 20-inch aluminum wheels, giving it a robust and off-road style appearance. The interior features a 10.25-inch full LCD instrument panel and a 15.6-inch central control screen with a built-in Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip.

The 1.5T entry-level version of the Jetour Traveller includes front seat ventilation and heating, adaptive cruising control, eight airbags, and 64-color ambient lights. The 2.0T high-end version offers suede seats, 128-color ambient lights, 10 airbags, and a 12-speaker Sony audio system.

Availability and Ground Clearance

The Jetour Traveller will start pre-sale on August 24, with delivery beginning in September. The car's ground clearance is 220mm, with approach and departure angles of 28Β° and 30Β° respectively, ensuring it can handle various terrains.

The rear design includes a large spare wheel cover, a wide high-mounted brake light, vertical LED taillights, and a tow hook. The Traveller is a mid-sized SUV, measuring 4785/2006/1800mm and having a 2800mm wheelbase.
