L'Oréal to Establish Research and Development Center for Latin America in Brazil

L'Oreal, the French cosmetics giant, is set to establish a new regional research center in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, for Latin America. The investment for this project totals thirty million euros, and the center is scheduled to become operational by 2015.

The research center will be situated next to the technological park of the Federal University of Rio, on the island of Bom Jesus. The laboratory within the center will have a surface area of 28,000 square meters, dedicated to the development of innovative products tailored to the Brazilian and Latin American market.

Didier Tisserand, who previously oversaw L'Oreal's activity in Spain, was appointed as the leader of L'Oreal's subsidiary in Brazil. However, in October 2022, he was replaced by Francois-Xavier Fenart, who is now at the helm of the Brazilian subsidiary.

This new installation by L'Oreal is expected to create 150 direct jobs by 2015. The products developed at the research center will not only cater to the Latin American market but will also be suitable for commercialization in other parts of the world.

The research center in Rio de Janeiro is a significant step for L'Oreal, marking their commitment to innovation and growth in the Latin American market. With this investment, L'Oreal continues to demonstrate its global leadership in the cosmetics industry.
