Lorry Overturned on A3 Motorway near Königswinter due to Traffic Collision
On Wednesday morning, a significant accident involving four vehicles occurred just before the Bonn/Siegburg interchange in the direction of Cologne. The incident resulted in a traffic jam stretching over a kilometer, as three fire engines from Königswinter were promptly dispatched to the scene.
The accident involved a 7.5-ton truck with a box trailer, which was carrying oil, and other vehicles. Regrettably, the incident resulted in two drivers being injured. The rescue service then took over the patient from the fire department, who had provided first aid for a medical emergency in the traffic jam.
The fire department, led by the head of the volunteer fire department Königswinter, Michael Bungarz, worked diligently to manage the situation. They handed over the incident scene to the highway police after an hour, following which the highway was fully closed for about 30 minutes during the initial response phase.
For those seeking more information about the accident, Marc Neunkirchen from the Press Office of the Voluntary Fire Department Königswinter is the contact person.
