Lunar eclipse occurring at Hohen Geba and Water Dome on September 25, 7.9
On Sunday, September 7, 2025, the Sternenpark Rhoen association is inviting everyone to join them for an unforgettable astronomical adventure at the Wasserkuppe in Thuringia. The events are in relation to the total lunar eclipse that will take place on the same day.
The highlight of the evening is the Astronomical Full Moon Tour, led by Sabine Frank, a star guide in the Sternenpark Rhoen association. Interested individuals can simply come to the event, but registration is recommended to secure a spot. Registration can be made by email to [email protected] or by phone at 0160/6537171.
Please dress warmly for the tour, as the chilly night air may make the experience less enjoyable. The meeting point for the tour is the parking lot in front of the Infozentrum Wasserkuppe towards the snack bars.
For those who prefer a more relaxed observation, there's also a Joint Observation Evening. This event will be led by Wolfgang Fiedler, a star guide in the Sternenpark Rhoen e.V. association and director of the Meinigen Observatory.
The events are free for attendance, but there is a fee for the Astronomical Full Moon Tour. The costs are 10 € for adults and 5 € for children aged 8 to 11 years. Please note that the tour may be cancelled in case of rain.
