Luxurious Range Rover Evoque Reigns Supreme in Extreme Urban Environments (Video Posted)
The Range Rover Evoque, first unveiled six years ago, has proven to be a resilient and adaptable vehicle, as it continues to excel in both urban and wild landscapes.
In 2013, Land Rover showcased the Evoque's versatility at the Geneva Motor Show, introducing the Black Design Pack and a model equipped with a 9-speed automatic transmission. However, it was a different demonstration in London that truly showcased the Evoque's urban prowess. Land Rover placed a giant speed bump on Surrey Row to test the vehicle's ability to handle extreme urban obstacles. To the surprise of many, a Range Rover Evoque successfully navigated the speed bump with an angled approach.
The Evoque has become a popular choice among drivers, selling more than 100,000 units a year. Land Rover's slogan for the Evoque, "Born in the Wild, Adapted to the City," encapsulates the vehicle's versatility perfectly.
Looking ahead, Land Rover is set to debut the Range Rover Evoque Convertible in November 2015. This new model will feature a cosmetic makeover inspired by the Union Jack, paying homage to the UK. The Evoque Convertible will be launched at the Paris Motor Show next month.
In terms of powertrain, the Evoque Convertible will utilise a hybrid system consisting of a 1.5-liter Ingenium three-pot, a small electric motor, and 48V electrics. This marks a significant step towards Land Rover's commitment to reducing emissions and promoting sustainable motoring.
The Evoque has only had one refresh in its life, which occurred in 2015. However, an update is due in 2018, featuring a Velar makeover and a hybrid powertrain. This update aims to further enhance the Evoque's urban adaptability and appeal.
Interestingly, no relevant search results could be found indicating which person or organisation installed the large speed bump on Surrey Row in London. Despite this, the incident served as a memorable demonstration of the Evoque's urban capabilities.
In 2013, both Land Rover and Jaguar attended the Geneva Motor Show, but neither company revealed any new models. However, an electric Land Rover Defender was introduced, signalling Land Rover's commitment to sustainable and innovative motoring.
As the Evoque continues to thrive, Land Rover is teasing the Range Rover Evoque Convertible with wireframe models in London. The anticipation builds as we approach the Paris Motor Show, where the Evoque Convertible will make its grand debut. The Evoque, born in the wild and adapted to the city, continues to set new standards in urban mobility.
