Man perishes in collision on A93 highway at the age of 55

In the late hours of last night, a tragic accident occurred on the A93 overpass near Regenstauf, Bavaria.

At around 11:55 PM, a 55-year-old man from the Regensburg district was driving a Ford from Eitlbrunn towards Regenstauf. The exact location before he joined the A93 is unknown. The man lost control of his car and veered off the road to the left, ultimately colliding head-on with a bridge pillar.

The accident site required the immediate deployment of fire departments from Regenstauf and Diesenbach, as well as an on-call doctor and an ambulance service. Despite the best efforts of emergency responders, the man suffered severe injuries and tragically passed away at the scene.

No other vehicles were involved in the accident, as of the current information. The county road R21 was closed in the Regenstauf interchange area until 2:45 AM to allow for the investigation and clean-up of the accident site.

A towing service was required to remove the destroyed car from the scene. The estimated property damage from the accident is approximately 25,000 euros.

The Regensburg Public Prosecutor's Office is currently investigating the cause of the accident. The investigation aims to determine the circumstances leading to the loss of control and the subsequent collision.
