Excited by their unexpected fortune, the winners made an appointment at the Maryland Lottery headquarters for final confirmation of their win, which was granted on July 1. The Maryland Lottery officially confirmed the win this week.
The FAST PLAY Gold Rush Progressive game, introduced on July 1, 2024, is a popular offering from the Maryland Lottery. However, the game is no longer for sale, with the last sale made on June 27, 2025. The odds of winning any prize in the game are 1 in 4.75.
Mutt's Liquors, the store where the winning ticket was purchased, will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Maryland Lottery for selling the top prize-winning ticket.
