In a shocking turn of events, a 27-year-old Syrian man, identified as Issa al H., is facing exceptional severity and subsequent preventive detention for a knife attack that took place at a city festival in Solingen last summer.

The attack, which occurred on a day meant for celebration, resulted in the tragic deaths of three individuals and left several others seriously injured. Issa al H. has confessed to the crimes and is alleged to be an IS terrorist.

According to the Federal Prosecutor's Office, Issa al H. swore an oath of allegiance to the IS caliph before the attack. He is accused of triple murder and ten counts of attempted murder.

In a statement, the representative of the Federal Prosecutor's Office revealed that the attacker revealed his true face as a jihadist and Islamist only shortly before the conclusion of the evidence-gathering process. However, the Prosecutor's Office has not disclosed if Issa al H. admitted to being a member of IS.

Prior to the attack, Issa al H. recorded a claim video in which he justified his actions as revenge for Israel's actions in Gaza and as retribution for massacres of Muslims in several countries. He was described by the federal prosecutor as a jihadist and Islamist associated with IS.

It is reported that Issa al H. was radicalized by the end of 2019. The Islamic State terrorist organization claimed responsibility for the knife attack, further solidifying the suspicions against Issa al H.

The Federal Prosecutor's Office has requested life imprisonment for the knife attacker from Solingen. The tragic incident serves as a grim reminder of the ongoing threat of terrorism and the importance of vigilance in maintaining peace and security.
