Parc des Princes will play host to France's Group D match against Iceland on Tuesday, but the spotlight is on one man: Kylian Mbappe. The Paris Saint-Germain forward equalised Thierry Henry's record of 51 international goals for France in a World Cup qualifying match against Ukraine last Friday.

Mbappe's goal, set up by Aurelien Tchouameni, came in the 82nd minute of the match, securing a 2-0 victory for the French team. The first goal was scored by Michael Olise earlier in the game.

In a post-match interview, Mbappe expressed his respect and admiration for Henry, whom he equaled in international goals. He referred to the Arsenal legend as "Titi." However, Mbappe made it clear that he does not focus on breaking the record but wants to win games and titles.

Mbappe's international career has been nothing short of spectacular. He was part of the team that won the 2018 World Cup and the 2020-21 Nations League title. After Olivier Giroud's departure, Mbappe succeeded him as the top goal scorer for the French national team.

Giroud, who ended his international career after the 2024 European Championship, will likely be watching with interest as Mbappe continues his pursuit of the record. France's run in the championship ended in the semi-finals, where they lost to Spain.

As Mbappe sets his sights on surpassing Giroud's record, the focus will be on whether he can lead France to more victories and titles. Tuesday's match against Iceland at Parc des Princes will be a significant step in that journey.
