In a significant development for professionals in demanding audio environments, Lawo has released software version 10.12 for its latest mc2 audio production consoles. This update brings about substantial improvements in channel management, Waves integration, user experience, and system security.

The new software version introduces a modern, intuitive Strip Assign page, streamlining channel management. With this feature, users can assign single or multiple channels in one step and effortlessly reassign, duplicate, or swap channels between strips. This makes it simpler than ever to tailor the console layout to personal preferences.

The page also allows for direct customization of channel labels and fader strip colours, offering a personalized touch to the console. Moreover, the clear, visual representation of the console banks ensures the number of sections matches the number of physical bays, providing an organized view that supports fast navigation.

The Signal List in version 10.12 includes new visual indicators for Aliases, Waves, and Loopback connections. These updates enhance the clarity of signal health and connectivity. The new visual indicators in the signal list and the simplified management of signal paths further aid operators in managing complex, multi-console setups with greater ease.

Version 10.12 also brings substantial improvements to the integration between mc2 consoles and Waves systems through the new ProLink protocol. A notable feature is the new access channel linking, which allows engineers to open a connected Waves Rack with a single button press on the mc2 console. Label synchronization is now automatic, reducing manual entry errors.

Security has been a key focus in this update. Version 10.12 strengthens system security with advanced features aligned with EBU R.143 cybersecurity guidelines. Private/public key authentication is now available for secure access, and the update introduces new password policies, including enforced expiration, complexity requirements, and the elimination of default passwords. The update also includes simple, guided procedures for password resets.

To download the update, users can visit "mc2 Release Notes - 10.12.0". The software version 10.12 is available now for all compatible mc2 audio systems. This update, developed by Lawo, promises to revolutionize the audio production experience for professionals in demanding environments.
