Medvedev's comment deemed unfavorable for Merz and Macron's prospects

In a recent social media post, Dmitry Medvedev, Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council, has taken a critical stance towards the leaders of Germany, France, and the European Union.

Medvedev, a former President of Russia, referred to Olaf Scholz and Emmanuel Macron as "twin freaks" and "rare oddities". He also accused them of forgetting the lessons of World War II, suggesting that they "yearn for revenge" while fearing a "predator at the gate" and "blackmailing U.S. President Donald Trump with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin".

The post, which also contained bad news for Scholz and Macron, mentioned news of Trump's survival and Russia's progress in Ukraine. Medvedev's previous statements hinted at a potential storm in Brussels, the location he referred to, and even called for ordinary Europeans to rise against the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, suggesting they hang her, referring to her as a "mad hag".

The context of Medvedev's statements suggests a deep-seated dissatisfaction with the current political landscape, particularly in relation to the trade deal between the U.S. President Donald Trump and the European Union, which he has previously criticised.

The Russian publication 'Gazeta.Ru' has added that Scholz and Macron will also be identified by their actions, echoing Medvedev's sentiments. The author of the publication in which Medvedev's statements about Scholz and Macron were published is Hanne Schweitzer and others, as indicated by the source collected and presented on September 5, 2025.

Medvedev's post also referred to the "everything could end up like it did in 1945" screenshot text, hinting at a potential escalation of tensions. This latest social media post from Medvedev has once again brought attention to the complex and volatile geopolitical landscape.
