Meghan Markle describes their anniversary meal with Prince Harry as being 'extremely enjoyable'
Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, and Prince Harry, the Duke of Sussex, celebrated their first wedding anniversary in a unique and intimate manner. The couple, accompanied by friends and family, navigated an old, creaky building with the stealthy grace of ninjas, as Meghan recalled.
The first anniversary dinner took place in a "beautiful little old chapel." It was here that Harry surprised Meghan with a ring created by Lorraine Schwartz, a jeweler who is also a favourite of Meghan's. The ring, a thoughtful gift, joined other pieces from Lorraine Schwartz that Meghan showcased during the celebrations.
Chef Clare Smyth, the Chef Patron of the three Michelin-star London restaurant Core by Clare Smyth, was responsible for the meal. She found the old building amusing and created a special off-menu item - fried chicken - at the request of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle. The dish, now a claim to fame for Chef Smyth, was enjoyed by all.
In an episode of her Netflix show, With Love, Meghan, Meghan welcomed Chef Smyth and recalled the first anniversary dinner as "so fun." Chef Smyth also mentioned surprising Meghan for their anniversary.
The celebrations continued with a low-key Sunday spent with Meghan's mother Doria. The duo shared a traditional Sunday lunch before Meghan returned to L.A.
As the first anniversary festivities came to a close, it's clear that Meghan and Harry enjoyed a memorable and unique celebration, filled with love, surprise, and delicious food.
