Mercedes-AMG GT (2023) and GT 63 S E Performance (2024): A New Era of High-Performance Luxury

The Mercedes-AMG GT, set to debut in 2023, promises an exhilarating driving experience with its visually striking design and cutting-edge technology. This luxury sports car shares a cockpit with the SL, featuring an 11.9-inch touchscreen powered by the MBUX system, standard smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, navigation with live traffic information, and car-to-X communication.

The digital instrument cluster and specific AMG steering wheel design complement the modern interior, while active aerodynamics ensure a smooth and dynamic drive. The car's underbody, in front of the engine, automatically extends down by about 40 mm above 80 km/h, creating a Venturi effect that enhances road grip and reduces front lift.

For those seeking even more performance, the Mercedes-AMG GT 63 S E Performance (2024) offers a powerful 4.0-liter V8 biturbo engine supported by a 200 PS electric motor, producing a staggering 816 PS (600 kW) and 1400 Nm of torque. This model can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in an astonishing 2.7 seconds and has a top speed of 315 km/h. The electric motor also allows the car to drive up to 1.6 km on electric power.

The GT 63 Pro, another 2024 model, offers a more dynamic driving experience with a specific suspension tuning. It accelerates from 0-100 km/h in 3.2 seconds and reaches a top speed of 317 km/h. The GT 63 Pro features a more powerful version of the 4.0L V8 biturbo engine without an electric motor, producing 612 PS (450 kW) and 850 Nm of torque.

Aerodynamic optimizations on the GT 63 Pro include a ceramic composite brake system, reducing unsprung mass and heat-related fade. The car's exterior is further enhanced with an optional aerodynamic package, featuring Flics on the outer air intakes, wheel arches, and sides of the rear bumper, as well as a larger diffuser and a fixed rear wing.

The Mercedes-AMG GT also offers an impressive driving dynamics, thanks to features like the AMG Track Pace. This system records over 80 vehicle-specific data points at a rate of ten per second during a predefined route, allowing for the display of corner angles, braking points, and the ideal line on the road via the optional head-up display with augmented reality.

Mercedes-AMG is also teasing a more aggressive GT optimized for track use with the Mercedes-AMG Concept AMG GT Track Sport. However, performance data and possible hybridization are not yet available.

The Mercedes-AMG GT is a 2+2 seater, offering a comfortable and luxurious interior that resembles the SL's cockpit. With its powerful engine options, cutting-edge technology, and visually striking design, the Mercedes-AMG GT (2023) and GT 63 S E Performance (2024) are set to redefine the luxury sports car market.
