Michael Wo finishes second, pocketing $8,358 in winnings.
In a gripping two-hour heads-up duel during the 2025 Summer Super Stack $800 PLO Megastack, Homan Mohammadi emerged victorious against Michael Wo, securing his first PLO title and a prize of $11,573.
The match started with Michael Wo holding the chip lead, a position he maintained for much of the battle. However, Mohammadi, who found himself down to only a few big blinds at one point, demonstrated remarkable resilience.
Key moments included Mohammadi's significant comeback, doubling up with trip deuces, and later making a wheel straight to regain strong contention. Wo also had his share of luck, doubling with a full house of sevens versus nines, showcasing the intense back-and-forth nature of the heads-up play.
The decisive hand occurred on a jack-high board. With Mohammadi holding two pair and a significant chip advantage, Wo entered the pot as a short stack with an overpair of queens. The board ran out with no help for Wo, allowing Mohammadi's two pair to hold and secure the win, giving him all the chips and the championship.
Throughout the tournament, Wo played a disciplined game, but he was unable to eliminate Mohammadi despite multiple opportunities. The chip count varied significantly during the battle, starting at 140 big blinds and ending at 60 big blinds.
Mohammadi's victory marks a significant addition to his already impressive live poker resume, which includes earnings exceeding $1 million. Arriving from Vancouver the day before the tournament, Mohammadi put Wo on the ropes and proved his skill and determination in the epic heads-up battle.
During the casino-and-gambling event, Mohammadi showcased his poker prowess, particularly in casino-games like PLO, as he conquered the 2025 Summer Super Stack tournament. Despite initially being on the brink of elimination, he demonstrated remarkable resilience, even playing sports-like games against Michael Wo to secure the championship win.
