The ongoing hostilities between Hezbollah and Israel have continued to pose a significant challenge, despite the November ceasefire agreement. The latest escalation occurred on Sunday, when the Israeli military conducted a strike on a Hezbollah site in southern Lebanon.

The Israeli military identified military activity at the Hezbollah site before the strike, which they claimed constituted a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon. The location of the strike is in Lebanon, specifically in the southern region.

The Lebanese army, with UN peacekeepers' support, has been dismantling Hezbollah's infrastructure under the November ceasefire agreement. However, the Israeli military's actions are seen as a breach of these understandings.

The hostilities between Hezbollah, an Iran-backed militant group, and Israel broke out after the outbreak of the war in Gaza. The hostilities have lasted more than a year and culminated in two months of open war last year.

The November ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah did not include a provision for Israel to continue strikes on Hezbollah targets in Lebanon. Yet, Israel has continued these strikes, disregarding the truce, and has promised to persist until Hezbollah is disarmed.

Hezbollah has vowed to resist the Lebanese army's effort to disarm them. The Lebanese army's plan to disarm Hezbollah is a recent development and has been ordered by the Lebanese government under pressure from the US.

The US has been pushing for Hezbollah to be disarmed by the end of the year, and this demand was also actively made in the early 2000s, with various legislative and security efforts focusing on Hezbollah's activities due to its designation as a terrorist organization by the U.S. government.

The last comprehensive disarmament program for Hezbollah in the USA was not successful, and it remains to be seen whether the current efforts by the Lebanese government will yield different results. The situation remains tense, with both sides showing no signs of backing down.
