Ministry of Justice Plans to Extend Digital Services of Their Offices Online

The Minister of Justice in Brandenburg, Benjamin Grimm (SPD), has announced a plan to make key civic tasks accessible online, aiming to reduce the need for office visits for numerous administrative tasks.

The term "focus services" refers to a specific set of administrative tasks that are frequently used by citizens. These include driver's license applications, change of address, and marriage registrations, among others. The minister's plan aims to handle these tasks "as comprehensively as possible" online during the current legislative period.

Currently, there is no available information on which German federal states have implemented Benjamin Grimm's "priority services" online availability or which federal states plan to make these services available online by the end of the current legislative period. However, Grimm has stated that the software for these online services is already in use somewhere.

The state government's goal is to offer all 16 "focus services" online. The task now is to ensure this software is used in all municipalities and across the state. If successful, residents may be able to change their address, apply for a driver's license, and submit proof digitally for a building permit without the need for office visits in the future.

The ministry considers these online services as a means to avoid office visits for multiple tasks. By making these changes accessible online, the minister hopes to streamline the administrative process and make it more convenient for citizens.

It's important to note that while the plan is in progress, there are no available search results that provide information on which federal states have implemented these online services or plan to do so. However, with the ambitious goal set by Minister Grimm, it's an exciting time for digital transformation in administrative services in Brandenburg.
