The renaming ceremony took place at the arena's clubhouse on Wednesday, with Minnesota Wild owner Craig Leipold extending a warm greeting in the Ojibwe language, "Boozhoo." Craig Leipold expressed his excitement for the partnership and the band's support.

The Grand Casino Arena, as it is now known, was previously named the Xcel Energy Center. The partnership was marked by a handshake and exchange of gifts, symbolising the unity between the parties.
