In Godella, near Pucol, a significant multiple-vehicle incident occurred on the A-7 motorway on August 28, 2020, at kilometre point 359. Es Diario shared a video of the accident, which resulted in a total shutdown of the motorway.
The collision involved at least six cars and two trucks. As a result, eight people were treated for bruises and dizziness, with two women requiring hospitalisation. A 37-year-old woman was taken to the hospital with abdominal bruises, while a 66-year-old woman, who also had neck pain and a bruise on her thigh, was transferred to the General Hospital of Valencia. The five other individuals involved in the collision were treated at the scene and did not require transportation.
Upon the incident, a SAMU ambulance, two Basic Life Support (BLS) units, and a TNA ambulance were dispatched to the scene. The DGT confirmed early on August 29 that the incident had not been resolved, and the road remained closed.
The incident caused traffic jams of more than 20 kilometres, leading to complicated traffic on Valencian roads. However, a few hours later, the DGT notified that the incident had been resolved, and the road had been reopened.
