Tesla Introduces the Model Y Long Range in China and Announces New Accessories

Tesla has made a significant move in the Chinese market by launching the Model Y Long Range (Model Y L), marking it as the company's first true family-oriented SUV. Priced at 339,000 yuan (approximately $47,000 USD), the Model Y L boasts a stretched wheelbase, three-row seating for six, and a more comfort-focused suspension setup.

In a recent development, Tesla has also announced a range of new accessories for the Model Y L, which are now available on its Chinese online shop. These accessories include the Model Y L All-Weather Trunk Mat, the Model Y L All-Weather Rear Door Sill Protector, the Model Y L All-Weather All-Around Floor Mats, and the Model Y L Glass Roof Sunshade, among others. All these accessories are marked as "Coming soon."

The new accessories align with the Model Y 2025 (Juniper) facelift introduction, with availability expected shortly after the vehicle's launch in the U.S., although an exact date has not been specified. In the U.S., the new accessories for the Model Y L will be offered by specialized providers, offering tailor-made solutions such as premium mats, organizers, paint protection films, and styling gadgets.

Interestingly, a test unit of the Model Y L with an unreleased "Light Gray" interior trim was spotted in the U.S. last week, hinting at potential future colour options.

While the Model Y L is now available in China, the three-row Model Y L is not expected to arrive in the U.S. until late 2026, according to CEO Elon Musk. The second and third-row seats in the Model Y L are adjustable, and the vehicle features a larger 16-inch central touchscreen.

The Model Y L also comes with several other accessories, such as the Model Y L Trunk Storage Box, the Model Y L Front Windshield Sunshade, and the Model Y L Tailgate Sunshade. These accessories are designed to enhance the vehicle's functionality and comfort, making it an attractive option for families.

In summary, Tesla has made a strong entry into the Chinese market with the Model Y L, and the announcement of new accessories further cements its position as a leading electric vehicle manufacturer. With its family-oriented design and a range of customizable accessories, the Model Y L is poised to be a popular choice among consumers.
