TAG Heuer Unveils Three Limited-Edition Carrera Astronomer Watches

TAG Heuer has announced the launch of three new versions of the Carrera Astronomer, each associated with a specific character. The collection, set to be available from October 2025, offers a blend of tradition and innovation, paying homage to the historical link of the Carrera line to astronaut John Glenn's 1962 space flight.

The Carrera Astronomer features a 39mm stainless steel case with a domed sapphire crystal, prominent horns, and 100 meters of water resistance. It is equipped with an automatic caliber that reliably drives the astronomical lunar phase complication in addition to hours, minutes, and seconds. The caliber 7 (base Sellita SW385-1) beats at 28,800 semi-oscillations per hour and offers a power reserve of 56 hours.

Among the three unique variants, a limited edition with turquoise accents stands out. Priced around 4,350 euros, this model boasts Super-Luminova in glowing turquoise, setting futuristic accents that particularly stand out in the dark.

For those preferring a more classic look, there is the stainless steel version with a silver dial and black bezel, priced around 4,450 euros. The collection is completed by a two-tone edition with rose gold, limited to 500 pieces, priced approximately 6,900 euros.

The two-tone edition features indices, hands, and middle links of the stainless steel bracelet made of 18k 5N rose gold. The case back of each model bears an engraved observatory motif.

All three models can be purchased with either a stainless steel or two-tone bracelet, or with a grey leather strap and a security folding clasp. The lunar phase display on the Carrera Astronomer advances precisely at one o'clock in the morning and remains accurate to within one day over more than a century.

The new Carrera Astronomer is a testament to TAG Heuer's commitment to precision and innovation. It is a new chapter in the Carrera history, focusing on lunar phases and high precision. The Carrera Astronomer is suitable for everyday use without compromising its technical finesse.

Jack Heuer designed the original Carrera for the racetrack in 1963, prioritizing clarity, precision, and speed. The TAG Heuer Carrera Astronomer, while rooted in this heritage, has been designed under the creative direction of TAG Heuer as a new phase for the Carrera line. The specific individual designer's name is not mentioned in the available sources.

The Carrera Astronomer's lunar phase display system showcases seven lunar stages over a 29.5-day cycle, adding a touch of celestial elegance to this timepiece. Whether you choose the turquoise accents, the classic silver and black, or the rose gold two-tone, each Carrera Astronomer promises to be a unique and captivating addition to any watch collection.
