Moldova's first Ibis Styles hotel opens in Chisinau

The Republic of Moldova is attracting international attention, as evidenced by the recent opening of the Ibis Styles Chisinau hotel. This new addition to the HORECA sector is a testament to the growing attractiveness of the country for international investment.

Located strategically on the main road to Chisinau International Airport, the Ibis Styles Chisinau offers hospitality that meets international standards in a creative and inclusive space. The hotel, which is part of the French Accor Group, is the first flagship project of the large-scale and innovative urban concept 'German Village', developed by Regata Imobiliare.

The investment in Ibis Styles Chisinau amounts to 12 million euros and features 100 modern rooms, a modular event center spanning over 200 square metres, a restaurant with bar and terrace, a fitness area, and 45 parking spaces. The hotel's design is tennis-themed, aligning with the creative identity of the entire urban development project.

Natalia Dubina, General Manager of Ibis hotel, stated that the hotel contributes to the creation of a new hub of economic and touristic appeal. The hotel project has created approximately 50 jobs, further supporting local economic development.

The opening of the Ibis Styles Chisinau hotel confirms the growing attractiveness of the Republic of Moldova for international hospitality groups. This development is not only beneficial for the hotel industry but also for the nation's tourism infrastructure. In the first half of 2025, the airport recorded a 48.3% increase in passenger traffic compared to the same period in 2024, surpassing 2.45 million travellers. Overnight stays in the country rose by 23.2% in the same period, indicating that more visitors are choosing to stay longer.

The country has the potential to become a competitive destination in Central and Eastern Europe through projects that combine sustainability, urban functionality, and social impact. Chisinau International Airport is ranked third in Europe among airports with annual traffic between one and 10 million passengers.

In the first quarter of 2025, the number of tourists accommodated in the Republic of Moldova increased by 7.5%. This growth is expected to continue with the launch of another Ibis Styles hotel, scheduled to open in Moldova in the autumn of 2025.

In conclusion, the opening of the Ibis Styles Chisinau hotel marks a significant step forward in the development of Moldova's tourism industry. This project, along with other initiatives, will help the country to establish itself as a sought-after destination in Central and Eastern Europe.
