Football Stars Pogba and Fati Await Champions League Debut for AS Monaco

Two high-profile signings, Paul Pogba and Ansu Fati, are gearing up for their return to the UEFA Champions League with AS Monaco, but their participation in the club's first match of the season remains uncertain.

Pogba, a 32-year-old midfielder, has been out of action for several years, while Fati, a 22-year-old forward, has not yet played a match for Monaco due to not being physically ready. Both players were registered by Monaco coach Adi Hütter for the Champions League.

Pogba's last appearance in the UEFA Champions League was in March 2022, while he was still playing for Manchester United. Manchester United lost 0-1 against Atlético Madrid in that match. Pogba hopes to return to the pitch in October.

Fati, on the other hand, made a brief appearance in the UEFA Champions League in October 2024, during FC Barcelona's game against Bayern Munich. Despite coming on as a substitute, Fati made an impact, with his team winning 4-1. However, his involvement in the final phase of Barça's UEFA Champions League run was more as a substitute than a starter.

The registration of Pogba and Fati by Monaco marks their return to professional football. Both players have resumed group training as part of their rehab and are expected to make their official playing return for AS Monaco after the next international break. Pogba is expected to debut at the club's first match following the break on October 18, 2025, against SCO Angers.

The first match for Monaco in the Champions League, scheduled for September 18 against Club Brugge, may not feature Pogba and Fati. Their availability for the match is uncertain due to their rehab status.

No specific information about the goalkeepers, defenders, or other midfielders for Monaco was provided. It remains to be seen how the team will perform without their star players in the initial stages of the Champions League season.

As the wait continues for the highly anticipated debut of Pogba and Fati, football fans worldwide eagerly anticipate their impact on the pitch for AS Monaco.
