Motorcycle rider aged 19 plunges to a 21-meter depth from a DASH overpass close to Shah Alam, leading to his unfortunate demise according to law enforcement officials.

Last night, a tragic accident occurred on the North-South Expressway (PLUS) at KM129.9, causing a chain collision among 12 vehicles, including 6 lorries, 5 cars, and 1 van.

The incident, which happened southbound at 7.30 am, was reported to the Muar police, with ACP Raiz Mukhliz Azman Aziz leading the investigation. The accident was caused by a lorry that suffered a breakdown, which in turn emitted blinding smoke that obstructed the sight and visibility of other drivers.

The lorry was driven by a 48-year-old local man, whose name is not yet disclosed. An urine test conducted on the driver did not reveal any illegal substances. However, the accident resulted in one unlucky driver, a 39-year-old man, suffering fatal internal injuries and being confirmed dead at the scene. Six other drivers were slightly injured in the accident.

The lorry that caused the accident stopped in the emergency lane on the left side of the highway. The smoke emitted by the lorry is believed to have caused the chain collision, as the visibility was significantly reduced.

The Muar police have launched an investigation under Section 41(1) of the Road Transport Act for reckless driving. The case is ongoing, and more details are expected to be released as the investigation progresses.

Our thoughts are with the families and friends of those affected by this tragic accident. We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as they become available.
