Motorcycle rider sustains severe injuries in crash on A44 roadway
On Friday, August 29, 2025, a motorcyclist from Düsseldorf was involved in an accident on the A44 near Meerbusch. The incident occurred at the Lank-Latum interchange around 13:30.
The 50-year-old motorcyclist lost control of his Honda motorcycle for unknown reasons, resulting in a severe accident. Emergency services quickly responded to the scene and transported the injured man to the hospital.
The motorcyclist is currently still receiving treatment at the hospital. The on-ramp to the A44 in the direction of Mönchengladbach was closed due to the accident and the subsequent investigation. The closure may have caused traffic congestion in the area.
The police are actively investigating the motorcycle accident. The accident site on the A44 near Meerbusch remains closed for further investigation. The Honda motorcycle involved in the accident was towed away from the scene.
