In the world of film, Osgood Perkins is making a return to theaters with a new project titled "The Young People." The movie, set for release on the earlier side of 2026, is scheduled to follow his upcoming release, "Keeper," slated for November 14.

Neon has confirmed the existence of "The Young People," and the film will mark another rapid venture for Perkins, who previously directed "Longlegs" and "The Monkey." The cast includes Nico Parker, who recently played Astrid in the live-action version of How to Train Your Dragon, and Lola Tung, who gained attention for her role in The Summer I Turned Pretty.

The film tells the story of a girl named Sue who befriends a new classmate named Kitty. However, as the friendship deepens, Kitty begins to show troubling red flags, setting the stage for a potentially chilling narrative.

Nell Tiger Free takes on the role of Kitty in "The Young People," while Nico Parker and Lola Tung will play undisclosed characters. The filming schedule for "The Young People" has not been confirmed, but the announcement for the project was made on August 28, 2025.
