Multi-vehicle collision leads to tiresome traffic congestion
On a typical Saturday morning, an unfortunate incident unfolded on the A9 highway between Beelitz and Beelitz Heilstätten. A collision involving four vehicles occurred around 11 a.m., leading to a full road closure for approximately one hour.
The accident took place at the beginning of a construction zone, causing traffic jams that extended up to seven kilometres. As a result, a tailback formed, causing significant disruption to the morning commute.
Fortunately, the incident resulted in only minor injuries to three individuals, who were promptly taken to the hospital for treatment. Thankfully, no serious injuries were reported.
The rescue helicopter was called in as a precaution, but it was not needed in the end. Once the scene was cleared and the vehicles involved in the accident were towed away, the full closure in the direction of Potsdam was lifted.
The estimated damage caused by the accident is around 100,000 euros. The investigation into the exact cause of the accident is still ongoing, and more information will be released as it becomes available.
