Multiple individuals sustain severe injuries in a wreck involving a bus on the C-32 highway of Santa Susanna, Barcelona, affecting approximately sixty passengers.

In a shocking turn of events, a bus carrying 60 passengers veered off the C-32 highway at Santa Susanna, Barcelona, resulting in a severe accident. Around 53 people required medical attention, with three individuals sustaining serious injuries.

The bus, which was on its regular line between Lloret de Mar, Girona, and Josep Tarradellas Barcelona-El Prat airport, left the road and ended up in a ditch. The accident occurred around noon at kilometer 127.7 of the C-32 highway near Santa Susanna.

The affected passengers were quickly attended to by five ambulances, two medical helicopters, and 14 firefighting units that were promptly dispatched to the scene. The rest of the passengers, who were either uninjured or had minor injuries, were taken to the 'Can Xaubet' sports center in Pineda de Mar for psychological support from SEM technicians.

Sadly, one severely injured passenger was taken to the Hospital de MatarΓ³, while two severely injured passengers were transported to the Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol. A fourth person was also hospitalized, but in a stable condition.

In response to the accident, Civil Protection has put the PROCICAT plan on standby. The road was temporarily closed in the direction of Barcelona due to the accident.

The bus operator responsible for the accident has not been named in the available reports. However, it is known that most passengers on the bus were tourists of various nationalities.

In a commendable gesture, the Catalan Firefighters reported that the bus company sent another vehicle to continue the route for the uninjured passengers who wish to do so.
