In a recent development, Governor Oleg Melnichenko has issued a warning to the residents of Penza Oblast, advising them about temporary mobile internet restrictions. This announcement comes in the wake of a heightened threat level alert due to the potential risk of drone attacks in the region.

The alert was declared following a series of drone attacks that occurred between the hours of 8:00 PM and midnight. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, a total of 31 Ukrainian drones were shot down over various Russian regions, with 21 intercepted over Belgorod Oblast, six over Voronezh Oblast, two each over Crimea and Bryansk Oblast.

The threat of drone attacks in Penza Oblast is so serious that the alert signal indicates an immediate threat to infrastructure objects. To keep the public informed, sirens, voice messages, push notifications, and official information channels are being utilised.

It is important to note that the available search results do not provide the names of the individuals responsible for controlling the Russian air defense systems during the shooting down of these drones.

While this incident may bring to mind the disruption of the President of Lithuania's aircraft by a drone during landing, it is crucial to highlight that this fact is not directly related to the current situation in Russia and Ukraine.

Residents of Penza Oblast are advised to stay vigilant and follow the instructions provided by local authorities during this period of increased security measures. Mobile internet restrictions are a temporary measure aimed at ensuring the safety and security of the region.
