Yesterday evening, a traffic accident occurred on the A4 highway between Chemnitz and Dresden, causing seven injuries and an estimated damage of approximately 58,000 euros. The accident, which involved a collision with stationary traffic at high speed, took place near the junctions Siebenlehn and Dreieck Nossen.

The incident was caused by a construction site on the A4 highway. Several cars were pushed apart during the collision, and a rescue helicopter was deployed to the scene.

Among the injured were a 3-year-old boy and an 8-year-old girl. Four of the injured individuals were reported to be seriously injured. The clearance operation of the accident was delayed due to some vehicles in the resulting traffic jam breaking down due to technical issues.

The Federal Highway Authority (Fernstraßen-Bundesamt) or Autobahn GmbH des Bundes, responsible for construction work at the accident site, are managing the planning, approval, and coordination of federal highway construction projects in Germany.
