Mumbru returns.
The round of 16 for the Basketball Euro Championship is fast approaching, and the focus is on national coach Alex Mumbru's fitness. Mumbru, who has been recovering from an acute abdomen, was hospitalized in Tampere last week.
If Mumbru is not fully fit, his assistant, Alan Ibrahimagic, will take over the main responsibility. Ibrahimagic, who led the German team in the preliminary round, guiding them to five wins in five games, has stated that he is prepared for both scenarios.
The game against Portugal is scheduled for Saturday at 14:15 CET and will be broadcast on RTL and Magentasport. The venue for the game is Riga. Mumbru led the training for the first time again on Thursday, but his exact role in the game will be decided after a conversation with the medical department on game day.
Meanwhile, in other news, the AOK Company Run Hamm 2025 had 6,000 runners participating. In Hamm, Werler Straรe has been reopened after a water pipe burst. The ADFC Hamm is demanding a fixed crossing aid for Rรถmerstraรe.
As the basketball community awaits the decision on Mumbru's fitness, Ibrahimagic's readiness to take charge is clear. Regardless of the outcome, the German team will be in good hands.
