Music school's blues and big bands to perform "Blues'n'Jazz" concert on June 29, 2025!
On Sunday, 29th June 2025, at 7:00 PM, music lovers in Baunatal will have the opportunity to attend a special event at the Musikschulzentrum. The evening promises a unique Blues'n'Jazz double concert, featuring two renowned bands - The Blues Band our city "BBB" and The Big Band.
The Blues Band "BBB" is led by Steffen Moddrow and specialises in the blues style of the late 50s, with intricate brass arrangements. The lineup includes Steffen Moddrow (coaching, percussion), Sven Krug (double bass and co-lead), Alexander Thon (drums), Klaus Beinroth (tenor saxophone), Wolfgang Kaivers (piano), Sybille Styllos (alto saxophone), and Per Frankman (baritone saxophone and vocals). Notably, BBB performs without the use of electric guitars.
The Big Band has been an institution at the music school and in our city for many years, and they will be concluding a rehearsal weekend at the event. They recently showcased their talents at the New Year's reception of our city in January this year, held in the city hall.
The double concert will focus on compositions and arrangements by American musician and big band specialist Maria Schneider. This collaboration promises a night filled with soulful melodies and captivating rhythms.
Admission to the concert is free, but donations are welcome. The event is not to be missed for any music enthusiast and promises to be an unforgettable evening of blues and jazz in Baunatal.
