"Music: Street Names - Exter Street, Curved Street"

In a recent announcement, Mayor Frank Hilker has called for a meeting titled "Forum City Center," inviting all business owners in the city center area. The meeting comes as the city grapples with potential unforeseen developments that could affect various aspects of the city center, including Exterstraße/Krumme Straße.

According to the mayor and the advertising community, these unforeseen developments could impact the timeline for decisions regarding resident parkers and parking search traffic in Exterstraße/Krumme Straße. However, the nature of these developments remains unpredictable, as the city center experts from the Institute for Retail Research Cologne (IFH) have not provided specific details.

The development of Exterstraße/Krumme Straße is not a standalone project, as the area should be viewed as part of a multifunctional staged overall development of the city center, as highlighted in discussions led by Mayor Frank Hilker within the "Forum Innenstadt."

City center development today means multifunctional thinking and action, according to the IFH study. This approach is expected to bring many unforeseen changes to the city center, as suggested by the study.

One of the key concerns in this development is the creation of sufficient replacement parking spaces and a parking guidance system in the city center. However, the unforeseen developments could potentially affect the coordination of these measures.

In a positive note, the jointly established free short-term parking spaces by the advertising community will be moved to Exterstraße/Krumme Straße in the next step. However, a decision on how to deal with the currently around 50 resident parkers and the parking search traffic in the area can only be made at the earliest in the year 2029.

Despite the uncertainties, the development of Exterstraße/Krumme Straße is a major topic at the upcoming meeting. The first city pick-up and drop-off zone for mobility-restricted persons is planned to be established in the area, adding a new feature to the city center.

Meanwhile, the Mode and Sports House Klingemann from Höxter and the establishment of a RoofTop Bar at the Hornsches Gate have created a new attraction in Detmold, offering a glimpse of the city center's vibrant future.

As the city moves forward with its development plans, the unforeseen changes are expected to shape the city center landscape in the coming years. The meeting will provide a platform for business owners and city officials to discuss these developments and chart a course for the city's future.
