Narcotics-filled gathering swept up at karaoke bar in Khon Kaen
In a shocking turn of events, police raided a popular karaoke bar in central Khon Kaen early Saturday morning. The establishment, known for its lively atmosphere, is now under scrutiny after reports of a narcotics party surfaced.
Undercover officers had earlier infiltrated the venue, collected samples, and confirmed the presence of illicit substances, including MDMA, methamphetamine, diazepam, and ketamine. As a result, authorities raided the bar at 6am, finding 25 individuals, including one male under the age of 20.
Among those found, initial tests showed 23 patrons had narcotics in their system. These individuals were charged with drug use and possession. The bar operator also faces charges for allowing illegal drug use on the premises, and for selling alcohol to a minor.
Despite not being present during the raid, the bar owner, identified as Somchai, has been summoned for questioning. Several staff members were also present during the raid.
Authorities are now preparing charges against the owner of the venue. The bar, which had been a hub of entertainment in the city, now faces a potential shutdown due to the serious allegations.
