Nation now prepares for nationwide alert as district installs fresh warning systems for the initial activation.

In a significant move towards enhancing public safety, Neuwied County, located in Germany, has completed the installation of 32 sirens across various districts. This development was reported by County Administrator Achim Hallerbach and Brand- and Disaster Protection Inspector Holger Kurz.

The district of Dierdorf-Wienau, for instance, now boasts a siren at Schwalbenstraße 7, BĂŒrgerhaus. Neighbouring districts like Großmaischeid-Kausen, Puderbach, and Dierdorf also have sirens installed at their BĂŒrgerhĂ€user, town halls, and city administrations.

The sirens in Verbandsgemeinde Bad Hönningen are strategically placed at key locations such as Ariendorf, Bischof-Stradmann-Straße 42, Alte Schule, Dachsirenen, Bad Hönningen Ölsberg WasserhochbehĂ€lter, Rheinbrohl, and Leutesdorf. In Verbandsgemeinde Unkel, a siren has been installed at Rheinbreitbach's fire station.

In Verbandsgemeinde Rengsdorf-Waldbreitbach, Datzeroth, Niederbreitbach, Roßbach, Mastsirenen, Waldbreitbach, Anhausen, and Ockenfels have received sirens at their schools and town halls. Similarly, in Verbandsgemeinde Linz, sirens have been installed at Linz, Vor dem Leetor, Altenheim, and Ockenfels.

The city of Neuwied itself is well-equipped with sirens at Irlich, Neuwied, Heddesdorf, Segendorf, Altwied, Oberbieber, and other locations. The district also now possesses 16 mobile loudspeaker systems for warnings in areas without sirens or for supplementary announcements.

The testing of the siren triggering will be conducted under real conditions for the first time on the warning day. This will ensure the system's readiness for all eventualities.

In a bid to further expand the siren network, the district of Neuwied has earmarked an additional 500,000 euros in the 2024 budget. By the end of the year, around 50 sirens are expected to be installed in Neuwied County.

The district administrator and BKI Holger Kurz have expressed their commitment to completing the remaining siren installations in the coming years to ensure a comprehensive siren warning system across the county. However, specific details about which local communities in the Neuwied district have not yet received all the necessary siren installations are not yet available.

The district of Neuwied will regularly inform the population about siren signals to prepare for all eventualities. This proactive approach towards public safety is a testament to the district's commitment to ensuring the well-being of its residents.
