Hoeneß on Germany's national team: No championing for Nagelsmann - National Team Discussion by Hoeneß:

German National Team to Focus on Football Amidst Loss to Slovakia

Uli Hoeneß, the honorary president of FC Bayern Munich and a prominent figure in German football, has expressed his continued support for Julian Nagelsmann as the coach of the German national team. This statement was made in response to Germany's recent loss to Slovakia in the World Cup qualifiers.

Hoeneß emphasized the need to focus on the essentials once again, urging for more discussions about football in Germany and fewer conversations about transfers. He also warned against speculating about the World Cup or even the title, suggesting that while Germany may be capable, everything needs to fall into place, and currently, it's not.

Stefan Effenberg, a former national player and a Sport1 expert, finds the losing streak of the national team, including the loss to Slovakia and the Nations League final tournament against Portugal and France, dramatic.

Despite the loss, Hoeneß maintains that Nagelsmann is still the right person for the job. He even went as far as to say that he would rather lose the first game than the last, referring to the loss to Slovakia.

It's worth noting that Nagelsmann took over as the coach of the German national team after previously coaching FC Bayern Munich. His contract as the coach of the national team has been extended until 2028, beyond the 2026 World Cup.

The German national team's next match in the World Cup qualifiers has not been specified at this time. The team is currently facing a challenging period, and it remains to be seen how they will bounce back from their recent losses.

In the meantime, Hoeneß's comments serve as a call to focus on the game itself and to maintain faith in Nagelsmann's ability to lead the team to success. The future of German football, under his guidance, is certainly an exciting prospect to look forward to.
