Jeremy Lin, the trailblazing Taiwanese-American basketball player, has announced his retirement from the sport. Lin's career spanned from 2010 to 2025, during which he made history, played in front of fans all around the world, and challenged stereotypes.

Lin began his professional journey in 2010 when the Golden State Warriors signed him as an undrafted free agent. His college career at Harvard was marked by three All-Ivy League honours. However, it was his time with the New York Knicks during the 2011-12 season that catapulted him into the limelight.

During the "Linsanity" run, Lin averaged an impressive 14.6 points, 6.2 assists, 1.6 steals, and a 44.6% field goal percentage. His performances were nothing short of remarkable, earning him a place in the hearts of Knicks fans and basketball enthusiasts worldwide.

After a notable stint with the Knicks, Lin's career took him to various teams in the NBA, including the Houston Rockets, the Los Angeles Lakers, the Brooklyn Nets, and the Toronto Raptors, where he won an NBA championship.

However, after not playing in the NBA since 2019, Lin spent the final years of his career in Chinese and Taiwanese leagues. He played for teams such as Ulsan Mobis Phoebus, Jeonju KCC Egis, Goyang Orion Orions, Daegu Korea Gas Corporation Pegasus, Seahorse Mikawa, and Seoul Samsung Thunders.

In 2025, Lin won the TPBL championship and was awarded the MVP honor. This victory marked a fitting end to his career, which was marked by numerous accolades and a relentless work ethic.

Reflecting on his career, Lin expressed gratitude for the opportunity to compete against top players and break barriers. He becomes the first Taiwanese-American player in NBA history, paving the way for future generations.

As Lin hangs up his basketball shoes, his legacy will undoubtedly live on. His story serves as an inspiration to aspiring athletes everywhere, demonstrating that hard work, determination, and a little bit of "Linsanity" can lead to greatness.
