Neighboring residences engulfed in flames: Roof blaze expands to adjacent properties
In Straubing, a terraced house caught fire earlier today, causing a significant disruption in the local area. The exact cause of the fire is still under investigation.
The initial blaze spread to four adjacent houses, forcing the evacuation of eleven residents. Fortunately, no major injuries were reported, with three people suffering minor smoke inhalation and being treated on site. Four firefighters also sustained minor injuries during the course of the operation.
The affected area has been closed off, preventing the residents from returning to their homes in the late afternoon. As of the time of this report, the fire department was still working diligently to extinguish the remaining flames.
City employees of Straubing were on standby, ready to provide support if necessary. The Arbeiter-Samariter-Bund (ASB) was also present in the late afternoon, offering assistance to the affected residents during this emergency.
Thankfully, by the time of the report, no visible smoke was observed, indicating that the firefighting efforts were progressing effectively. The extent of the damage to the properties will be assessed once the fire is completely extinguished.
