NekoManeki Triumphs in the 888poker Mystery Bounty Main Event with a $100,000 Win
The much-anticipated $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event on 888poker, scheduled for 6:00 p.m. BST on August 17, has concluded with Malta's "NekoMenaki" emerging victorious. The tournament, which attracted 910 players, offered a guaranteed prize pool of $100,000 and was streamed live on 888poker's Twitch channel with card-up coverage.
The final table consisted of eight players, with "NekoMenaki" starting Day 2 with the highest chip count. Ukraine's "FraerVV29" was close behind, holding the second-highest chip count, albeit with less than a big blind less than Malta's player.
The heads-up stage saw several significant moments. "NekoMenaki" called an all-in with pocket nines, while "FraerVV29" limped with ace-four of hearts. In a pivotal move, "NekoMenaki" min-raised with pocket sevens, leaving "FraerVV29" to fold pocket sixes.
The first hand of the final table saw the elimination of Brazilian "LeoJoseCarne." Other noteworthy players who were eliminated earlier in the tournament include "aalexandress," who was eliminated in third place.
The tournament's structure allowed players multiple opportunities to qualify. They could either pay the direct buy-in of $109 for direct entry or win their way through numerous satellite tournaments offered on 888poker. These satellites included freeroll tournaments with no entry fee and paid tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $1 to $16.50, catering to players of various bankroll sizes.
Day 1 of the tournament resulted in a $9,000 overlay, with "cool_Cat888" holding a five big blind stack after a shove call.
With the victory, "NekoMenaki" takes home $9,004 and the title, adding another chapter to the rich history of the $100,000 Mystery Bounty Main Event on 888poker.
