"Neo-pop art or Capitalist Realism, as depicted by Nils Jantzen"
In the heart of our city, the Galerie our city is set to present the artwork "60 60" by 18-year-old artist Nils Jantzen for the first time on a wall surface. This exciting exhibition, part of the "Crossing Times" series, will run from August 25, 2025, to September 21, 2025.
"60 60" consists of 60 individual images, each 60 x 60 cm on canvas, showcasing well-known logos, advertisements, or lettering of consumer goods and mass media. The Rubik's Cube, developed in 1974, symbolizes transience and timeless relevance in Jantzen's art.
The exhibition's central themes include the decline of world orders, the rise of new superpowers, and the inhumanity of war and destruction. Jantzen's art pays tribute to artists like Richard Hamilton, Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, Keith Haring, Jeff Koons, and Takashi Murakami, as he interprets Pop Art and Neo-Pop Art from a contemporary perspective.
Exactly one year later, the exhibition will be repeated, and the artist will show how strongly transience has been saved in the living present. The artworks in the "60 60" format depict different views of the Rubik's Cube in various game situations, adding an intriguing layer to the exhibition.
Each of the 60 individual images can be purchased by art lovers, allowing them to create their own artwork at home.
